Description
It was really back in the day and the place was Wilkes Barre Pa's Fine Arts Fiesta. There she was up on stage andMary Wilsonwas Rockin the Place...I really mean Rockin the Place. The crowd was mesmerized, and so was I. Mary Wilson of the Supremes was giving them everything they had hoped for. The faces in the crowd displayed overwhelming admiration. Could one women totally capture the hearts and souls of so many people...The answer was yes and more. Could I capture the essence of Mary Wilson ?
I was up front at the edge of the stage, waiting for the moment and then it happened, at the end of "You Can't Hurry Love". The crowd was on it's feet screaming. The entire stage was visibly shaking and the Dreamgirl hit the pose I was waiting for. The Crowd just kept on screaming...Later, Brian Benedetti, Exe. Dir.of Fiesta said to me, "My God, do you believe this lady". That evening, at a privategathering at the WB Ramada Inn,I had a chance to speak briefly withMary.Sheis without a doubt, one of the most togetherpeople I ever met. A reallysincereperson...She autographed a roll of film I had in my sport coat pocket. I later framed it with her photograph.
